Ashley Graham is known for her curves, and now her breasts are preserved in gold.
The 35-year-old model shared a snapshot from social media app BeReal on her Instagram story, showing her in a gold bust in the middle of a busy studio. Wearing nothing but black lingerie and black slippers, with her hair slicked back from her face, the mother of three mugged for the camera in what appeared to be a professional photo shoot.
Although Graham did not specify which brand she was photographed for, she is the face of Knix, a well-known lingerie company.
Earlier this week, Graham told Vogue that she often tries to lift the veil of perfection prevalent on social media by flaunting intimate moments that most people would hide on their phones.
“The surface is enough, just give us the version you want us to see. If that means showing some crazy picture of my hairline, who cares? We all have those pictures on our camera film – I just decided to release it. It’s no big deal,” Graham explained.
She also noted that while many celebrities “just want to show you the glitz and glamour,” she actually “can’t stand it.
“When people sit next to me at dinner parties or when I go out, I always tell them, ‘I hate small talk.’ I really want to go deep. I want to get into tough conversations right away. That’s exactly how I feel on social media,” Graham said.
Back in December of last year, Graham encouraged social media followers to share photos of themselves in response to claims that the body positivity movement had “gone too far. Previously, Graham was criticized for celebrating her 30th birthday in a revealing backless dress at singer Tori Kelly’s aughts-themed birthday bash. While many fans loved her “freak” dress, some responded less complimentingly, suggesting Graham should have covered up her body.
In response, Graham took to Twitter to share a nude photo of herself in a gold mesh backless dress and encouraged followers to do the same. Her actions were praised by many and led to a large group of followers responding with photos of themselves happily celebrating their bodies in front of the camera.
Graham has become real with followers on a variety of other physical issues she faces. Last year, she spoke candidly about postpartum hair loss in January 2022 after the birth of her twins. In May 2021, she told her parents that four months after giving birth to her first child, her “whole hairline fell out. She initially referred to the experience as “traumatic.
The supermodel also spoke candidly about the changes in her body after giving birth. She showed followers her “new belly” struggling to embrace the changes her body underwent as a result of motherhood.
“You look so different from how I used to look,” she wrote, sharing a photo of the stretch marks on her belly. “But I appreciate you.”
